What are mosquitoes?
Mosquitoes are small, flying insects found in most places worldwide. Over 3,700 kinds of mosquitoes exist globally.
Not all of them bite people or animals. When they sting, the most common reactions are itching and swelling. Some mosquitoes can spread germs which can make you sick. They pass pathogens from one living thing to another. Each year mosquito-spread diseases kill over 725,000 people.
Mosquitoes go through four life stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The eggs hatch into larvae that live in water and eat algae and decaying matter. These larvae are food for dragonflies, fish and birds. The biting mouthparts let the adult females pierce skin and feed on blood from mammals, birds and some insects. Some species only lay eggs after having blood meal.

Treatment
- Remove breeding spots – We get rid of things that let mosquitoes breed in your yard.
- Natural predators – Spiders, birds, fish and bugs that eat mosquitoes can reduce the population.
- Pesticides – We use safe, eco-friendly pesticides to kill mosquitoes. Some we use are Novaluron, Bifen, Pyriproxyfen. We may mix in growth regulators too.
- Misting and fogging – We install outdoor misters and foggers that won’t harm the environment.

Electric Mosquito Killers
Mosquito zappers use light and heat to lure and kill the pests. The units have UV bulbs to attract bugs. When mosquitoes and other insects fly near, they get zapped by an electrified metal grid inside the trap.
These are useful additions to your defenses. Place them out of reach of kids and pets. Position the traps near problem areas in your yard where you see lots of bugs.
While they kill some biting insects, they aren’t as effective as professional treatments.
